Walpolamulla is a small, hidden village in the Knuckles Mountain Range of Sri Lanka. It is one of the smallest villages in the country and is now abandoned. Once, a few families lived there, but over time, they left because of its isolation, lack of water, and the dangers of wild animals. To reach Walpolamulla, visitors must trek through a tough, jungle path, making it a challenging journey. The village is surrounded by stunning views of the Dumbara Valley, with tall mountains, waterfalls, and lush forests. Though it is unclear if Walpolamulla is the smallest village in Asia, it is definitely one of the most secluded places in Sri Lanka. Today, it remains a quiet and mysterious spot, a reminder of the past, where nature has taken over the land.
